NEWS UPDATE

15th February 2010

Dennis is back!  Featured on the 'Golden Oldies' page, Dennis has booked in for his second consultation with the Doctor.  Known for his overwhelming flair and charisma, he will certainly inject the band with a booster dose of good old Rock 'n' Roll.  On his return to Dr Misfit, Dennis will have the Bass guitar slung over his shoulder (the instrument he once earned his bread and butter with) pumping out classy basslines on all the favourite Dr Feelgood and Pirates' songs that we perform.  Over the years, he's been lucky enough to have rubbed shoulders with some of the stars, the most notable being Rory Gallagher - if you get to meet him, I'm sure he will tell you all about it!

1st February 2010

Sadly Peter (guitar) has decided to leave the band which has led appointment of the well known and respected musician, Phil Selby.  Although Phil has many notable ongoing avenues of musical activity (such is his talent), he is probably best known as the suave guitarist in the renowned Norwich band - The Keno Kings.  Anyone who has watched a Keno Kings show will have undoubtedly appreciated their slick delivery of classic blues songs from the past and indeed also some of their own self penned arrangements in the old R&B format.  His professionalism and wealth of experience will be very welcome and I am absolutely sure his inclusion in the line up, will render Dr Misfit as an even better band than ever before.

Happy New Year to you all.

I am really looking forward to the first gig of the new year at the Wash and Tope in Hunstanton on Saturday 30th January. Especially so as it will be our first time playing with our new  player,  Phil Selby.  It would be great to see as many as possible of you there to welcome Phil to the band.

See you soon.

28th November 2009

Good gig last night at The Brickmakers.  We enjoyed ourselves, hope you all did too.

Looking forward to the 19th December when we are playing at The Royal Oak, Halstead.  Hope to see as many of you there as possible.  What better way to start the Christmas period !! ?

Hi

Just a shortie this time to thank all who came along to the The Royal Oak, Halstead - we had a great time and it certainly appeared that you did too.  Like I have said there are a couple of irons in the fire for gigs either in November or December so keep a look out.

All the best

Hello again

I thought I should make the effort to post some news as it has been a while since the last show at the Swan, Loddon.

It was good to catch up with Stuart our brilliant host and wonderful to see some old faces from times gone by.

Those of you who were there will know the evening started pretty slowly but thankfully picked up considerably throughout the course of the night and by the end, all those daring devils who had turned out, were well high from a good old dose of Dr Feelgood style rhythm & blues.

As ever, the usual odd live music gremlin had their part to play... we even played a song in the wrong key!!  (naming no names Mr Bass) still, it keeps everyone on their toes even if it did wrench my voice a bit.

Talking of voices, Martin has been suffering with a bout of throat soreness and is a doubt for singing duties at the forthcoming gig next weekend at Halstead - "good job too" did I hear you say?... now now you mustn't think that... he has a good voice and you never know, he may just be fit in time.

So it is bye for now.

Dr Misfit

PS Have some irons in the fire for a couple of gigs to fall in November and December so keep a look out.

Hi everybody,

It's been a funny start to the year.  I didn't think we would be gigging again but I am glad to say we are.

Sadly Dan decided to hang up his old Fender guitar due to ear problems. I would like to take this opportunity to thank Dan for the hard work he put into the band and I think I can say on behalf of all the boys a big thankyou for that !.  Also a big thankyou to Vanessa for the work, time and effort she has also put into doing the website (www.drmisfit.co.uk)  etc. it's greatly appreciated !!   Both websites are running along side each other so they will both be updated accordingly to save any confusion..

We would all like to welcome Peter to the band and also the return of a familiar face on bass guitar. Hopefully we can look forward to some good times again.

We are all recovering from the gig at the Blueberry last night.  The band played really well and I think a certain person had too much to drink as he was momentarily dancing and playing on the dance floor (hopefully some pictures will be posted on the gallery) I should mention this dosn't happen very often but maybe he was trying to get away from the strange smells wafting across the stage,  I think I know where they were coming from (not guilty)!  Despite the dreadful smell, Peter was outstanding on the guitar.

Many thanks to Sally for having us back. It was great to see familar faces which the band really appreciated. Please don't forget it's you that gives us the encouragement and energy to carry on.

It was without doubt a cracking gig and I think a good time was had by all.

We all look forward to the gig at the Swan, Loddon on September 12th, so book your appointment to get a "shot of rock 'n' roll in your arm ".  Hope to see you all there.

All the best
Dr Misfit
